We celebrated day +100 yesterday with Oliver! We can’t believe it’s been 100 days since his transplant. He is still battling a virus and some congestion, but hopefully will feel back to normal soon.

100 days post transplant is significant because it means kids are typically off their immunosuppressant medication. While Oliver is not as immunocompromised now, his immune system is still very weak and so he still can’t be indoors or anywhere with a lot of people. He can drink tap water and eat berries and have occasional indoor play dates, but otherwise we are still very restricted.

Oliver’s immune system will continue to grow stronger over the coming months. He will be able to get vaccinated again around February, and then he will be able to live more like a typical child. Our doctor warned us that he will be like a baby again and will be likely to catch every illness around as his immune system is starting over essentially.

We are thankful to be here and doing our best to live each day to the fullest. We don’t know what the future holds for Oliver. He has done so well, but he also has a very high chance of relapse since this cancer is aggressive and hard to fight.

Thank you for your support and love! And thank you to our sweet neighbors for celebrating Oliver yesterday!
