We were not able to get home today, unfortunately. Oliver is going to have weekly chemo injected into his spinal fluid through a lumbar puncture. This is a pretty typical procedure during standard chemo, but last year he only got a few lumbar punctures and now he will do one a week. Since his cancer came back and it is in his skull/so close to his spine, they want to take every precaution. His last injection was last Tuesday, so they wanted to do one again tomorrow morning.

We were disappointed but hopeful we could leave early tomorrow morning. Ollie was pretty off this afternoon. He took a huge nap and then was pretty lethargic and sleepy. He wasn’t eating and he kept falling asleep. He woke up, threw up, and when we took his temp he had a fever. So, we will be staying here another 24- 48 hours 😔 We have to wait for the blood cultures to come back to make sure he doesn’t have a blood infection and to make sure his fevers don’t keep coming back. I’m not sure yet if they will give him the chemo tomorrow or not… pray that this is resolved quickly and that he doesn’t have a central line or blood infection.
