Oliver is in his bone marrow biopsy right now. We should find out results at the end of the week as to whether or not he is in remission. He needs to be in remission to continue to transplant, but everything is set and approved for transplant to start on May 18.
All we can do now is wait and pray that this has worked. Will you pray with us that the T cells would be effective in putting him into remission?
Ollie will have another big day tomorrow with scans and no eating or drinking. He continues to be so patient and easy going throughout these very hard days.
No matter what results we get at the end of this week, we have reflected and feel nothing but gratitude for this time. Time in this beautiful city with its kind people and incredible outdoor spaces. Time we never would have had as a family under any other circumstances.
The fact that Oliver never had to be inpatient while we were here and didn’t develop any serious symptoms is something we didn’t expect and we are so grateful for. Our Seattle team took such good care of us and we feel immensely thankful for them and for all they’re doing for these kids.
It’s been such an amazing experience but we are really ready to come home on Thursday! 🎉
