Clinic went well yesterday! Our doctor said Oliver is doing “exceptionally well” and everyone is so impressed with how well he has done and continues to do. All the tests that have come back so far show no signs of cancer and that Oliver’s body has adopted his donor’s immune system fully. We are not sure when we will get the very last piece of information back from the bone marrow biopsy, but our oncologist said that he would be totally shocked if it’s anything other than good news. We will keep you updated if we hear in the last piece of information.

Next week we will start weaning Oliver off of his immunosuppressant medication to see how the new immune system reacts without being suppressed. Then we will wait and watch and adjust accordingly based on if we see graph vs host disease. Once he is off the immunosuppressant, he will get off most of his other medications as well. Our oncologist told us that our goal will be to have his central line out by Christmas this year, as long as things keep going well!
