I wanted to share with you that Oliver is officially in remission (again). We got his last test result today and all tests show that his body is clear of cancer. It would probably be a normal reaction to cry tears of joy and be ecstatic (our reaction last year). Instead, I am not feeling much. We have already been down this road and just because the tests don’t show cancer, doesn’t mean it’s not there. We are deeply grateful for the remission, though, even if we are not feeling very emotive. There is never any guarantee of remission with this type of cancer and it means a higher chance of getting rid of it post transplant, especially with the Luveltamab as a post-transplant maintenance chemo.
We don’t have any more information about the transplant. Our back up donor is still planning to get a physical and blood work to make sure they can donate. Will will also get worked up as the back up in case anything goes wrong. Will update you more as we hear more, but all of it is very much up in the air still.
Thank you for your prayers and the care you have for Ollie. It means so much to us!
PS- Ollie had a very fun Halloween. He was “dark Vader” with Liam as a storm trooper and Maddie as Taylor Swift!
