I know so many of you have been waiting for biopsy answers. We have been waiting a bit longer than usual for results and trying to figure out next steps with our team.

Oliver’s results show that his cancer has decreased since the last biopsy, but he is still not in remission. There is still a very small amount of detectable cancer. We all think the wisest thing is to do another round of chemo and do another biopsy.

We have an international donor lined up to donate cells mid-October. The plan is to still get those cells and then freeze them so they are available when Ollie is ready for transplant. Typically, they fly the cells and keep them fresh for transplant, but since we have an adult donor for a pediatric patient, we will have plenty of extra cells (some cells are lost with freezing) and will be able to go to transplant quickly and not have to rely on a donor to give cells on a specific day.

We will start chemo next week with the hope and prayer that this will be his last round ever!
