Oliver did so well and recovered beautifully from surgery. He’s so resilient. I’ve lost count of the number of scans and surgeries he has been sedated for. His central line called a double broviac (a catheter inserted through his chest and directly into a vein to deliver chemo or other medications) was placed today.

We are planning to start chemo at some point tonight. One is an oral chemo and one is a 10 minute infusion he can sleep through. Central lines are scary because if he gets a fever, it’s a medical emergency and you have to rush to the hospital in case of a blood infection. But, they are amazing when getting so many infusions because Ollie doesn’t feel anything. They can draw blood, give him medicine, chemo, put him to sleep and it doesn’t cause any pain.

We found out today, thanks to our amazing NP, that the oral chemo that took us weeks to get approved with our last insurance was already approved today. That means we need to finish 5 days of the IV chemo and we should be able to come home next week as long as he is responding well to everything.

It’s alarming to us how quickly Oliver’s AMKL took over his body. We went from noticing slight bulging in his eye and are now getting chemo one week later. Please pray this round of chemo would be effective and work quickly to make him feel better.

Thank you for your prayers, toys, gift cards, texts, and meals. We appreciate you all ❤️
