July 31 (part 2)
We made it back home! We were able to sneak in between two cases to get the line out (which takes less than 15 min)— which we were thankful for because if we hadn’t been able to we would have had to wait for a three hour case to be over. Oliver did great, woke up quickly and angrily, and then very soon after became thrilled about his lucky charms. We will work on getting him to take only oral meds from here on out. This will also mean peripheral blood draws every time we go to clinic, but still worth it to not have that central line.
Thank you for continuing to pray that Oliver would tolerate the magnesium orally— that has been our only real problem in the past. And that all his counts, etc.. will continue to look good and he can keep the line out!
