We just started the bone marrow transplant (a little later than expected). The delay was actually related to some good news on the donor side—she had very healthy marrow and they received about three times the volume they needed. That meant it took awhile to reduce the volume to an appropriate level for Oliver but now the infusion will only take 1 hour. Also, they have extra cells banked in case there are any engraftment issues and could theoretically “top him up” with additional stem cells if it were needed.
